Local Barter

Privacy information

Updated 6 November 2026. This is a connected pilot; general launch and paid billing are still being prepared.

Your account

Your representative name, business email, mobile number, ABN and account identifier are stored for account access and verification. Email and phone stay private by default. You choose which business information and website appear on your public profile.

Exchanges and photos

Trade proposals, messages, agreements, private job photos and reviews are stored in the shared service. Trade participants can see their own exchanges. Private photos are accessible to their uploader and the other participant after attachment to a trade.

Service providers

The pilot uses the hosting platform’s ChatGPT sign-in, Cloudflare storage and server infrastructure. ClickSend handles email or SMS delivery when connected. Business searches use Google Places when activated; contact emails may also be found on a business’s public website. Google searches are subject to the Google Privacy Policy. A configured alternative email provider may handle email delivery.

Your choices

You choose whether to publish a profile, propose a trade or send an invitation. An invitation email includes an unsubscribe link. Contact hello@localbarter.com.au for account support or a privacy request. The Local Barter owner can view account contact details, verification progress, support requests and trade status, and can pause directory listings. Private trade conversations stay with the participants. Optional trading tips and reminders require your email preference to be enabled; change it in My business. Campaign links record visits and signup attribution. Retention periods and a full self-service account export/deletion process must be finalised before general launch. Do not upload sensitive personal information during the pilot.
